Mikumi National Park is the third largest park in Tanzania, and this private tour is perfect for those who don't have a lot of time but still want to see it. It's cheaper and less congested than the Serengeti. Lions, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, elephants, impalas, warthogs, hippos, and more than 300 species of birds are all possible sightings. Following your time in the Maasai community, you'll go to the nearby Udzungwa Mountains for some climbing and sightseeing.

Itineraries
Day 1
Zanzibar - Mikumi National Park by Air
At 4:30 a.m., a driver will come to collect you up at your Zanzibar (hotel/residence) and take you to the airport so that you can catch a 7:00 a.m. flight to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival at Mikumi National Park at 8:30 a.m., you will begin your game drive immediately, with a brief pause during which you can have your lunch inside the park. The game drive will last until dusk, at which point you will be taken to TanSwiss Lodge (or a similar establishment) for dinner and the night.
Day 2
Udzungwa Mountains and Maasai Village
After a hearty breakfast, you'll depart for the Udzungwa Mountains, where you'll spend the next two hours trekking with an expert guide. As you travel, keep an eye out for native medicinal and bird-attracting trees. The view of the Sanje Waterfalls from the peak is breathtaking. Birds, monkeys, a variety of flora and fauna, and more await your discovery.
You will be taken back to your lodge in the Mikumi area for lunch, and then you will spend the late afternoon (about 4:00 p.m.) learning about the Maasai people and their culture during a visit to their hamlet. The customs, rituals, "high jumping dance," traditional clothing, and fearless warriors of the Maasai people are what make them famous. After spending the day in the Maasai village, you'll be taken back to your lodge for dinner and bed.
Day 3
Morning Game Drive and Departure
The early morning game drive will begin at around 6:00 a.m., and you will continue it after breakfast until around 12:00 p.m. At around 3:00 p.m., you will leave the park, eat your picnic lunch, and be transferred to Mikumi Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. At Zanzibar International Airport, our driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
