Tarangire National Park Tour & Safari Packages

The park is located northern Tanzania near Serengeti national park. The main feature that attracts visitors to the park is the millions of baobab trees. These trees are found throughout the park, with some reaching a height of over 300 m and much older than any other tree in the region. They have been here for hundreds of years, and their roots have become intertwined with the ground in such a way that they form a large root structure that supports the whole tree. The baobab trees create an amazing sight as one travel through the park.

  • Guided nature walks

One can take two trails from the central meeting place to view some of the animals in the park. The first one is a 5-kilometer walk which lasts for about an hour or so, where you walk through the baobab trees, and the other one is a 7-kilometer walk which lasts around two hours, where you can see all of the baobab trees that the area. These are some of the best-guided walks in Tanzania and are suitable for people of all ages.

  • Game drives

Guests can take their own safari vehicles and drive around on their own so that they can look out for animals as they drive, or then they can travel in one of the scheduled vehicles operating throughout the park. Enjoying a game drive in Tarangire National Park is one of the best ways to see all of the amazing animals Tanzania offers, especially zebras, cheetahs, and wildebeest. The baobab trees also make for a perfect background, especially when watching giraffes or elephants. The private safari guide in the park will take you through all the different parts of the park, where one can ride with some of the animals if they are roaming around, walking through areas with more shade from the trees and other animals. With a private vehicle, you can also drive through all of the park’s different sections, where you can see the animals on their own and in their natural environment.

Bird watching

The Tarangire National Park is also one of the best places in the country to watch birds as there are many different species that one can spot from the park. The park has a lot of open grasslands, so there are a variety of different birds that are found here. One can enjoy seeing birds such as red-billed hornbills, bee-eaters, and woodpeckers. The park also has tall cliffs which attract several types of birds, such as African fish eagles and African griffon vultures. The park is also one of the best places to go walking as there are many different trails one can take and enjoy the scenery while enjoying the marvelous view of the birds.

  • Cultural experiences

The Tarangire National Park is also one of the best places to go on cultural experiences as there are so many different types of tribes that live throughout the park. The main people living in the park are the Bantu people, who can be found in most areas of Tanzania. They have lived in this area for a very long time and make up an important part of this country’s history.

  • Balloon safari

Best time to visit

The best time to come to the park is in the dry season, between November and April each year. In December, the weather is usually very dry, and there are hardly any clouds in the sky. This makes it a great time to see wildlife as they are very active then, especially if you are coming during the migration period, which takes place in November/December.
