Wildlife
Ranomafana National Park is a perfect place to see primates. It has 12 lemur species. 7 species are active in the daytime. 5 are common at night. Some of the lemur species are Aye-Aye, eastern woolly, red-bellied, greater dwarf, and greater bamboo among others. Most tourists are after the golden bamboo lemur. The species is only seen in this park. Other common animals are frogs, lizards, snakes, and bats among others.

You can spot these animals at any time of the year. But most tourists avoid the wet months. The park has different trails. The shorter trails are more popular. They take about 4 hours to complete. But other trails take about two days to complete. All the trails offer opportunities to spot wild animals.

Birdlife
Ranomafana National Park is a good place to watch birds. Just like Andringitra National Park and Zahamena National Park, it has many species of birds. The most common species are ground rollers, especially between September and January. Other common species are crested drongo, Madagascar cuckoo-shrike, and Blue vanga among others. You can enjoy birding at any time of the year. But most birds are active during the wet months.

Scenery
The range of altitudes creates different forest types in the park. The lowland and cloud forests host different species of plants. The hilly terrain offers great views of the canopy. The Namarona River is scenic as it gives access to a stunning waterfall. The park also hosts over 90 butterfly species giving it a spectacular view.

Climate
Ranomafana National Park has a warm to temperate climate. The wet season is usually warm and humid. This is because of the park’s high altitude. It is between November and March. Daytime temperatures range between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. Nighttime temperatures are around 14 degrees Celsius.

The dry season is between May to October. It is less humid than the wet season and cool. Afternoon temperatures range between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius. Nighttime temperatures are between 8 and 11 degrees Celsius.
