Where it is located

Serengeti derives from the Maasai word “Kiuram Serengiti,” which means many grazers. It is also found within a short drive from Nairobi and Arusha cities. The Serengeti National Park is located in the Northern part of Tanzania. It covers a large area which includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Masai Mara National Reserve.

How to get there

Most of the people go to the park from Arusha by car. From Arusha, one can take a bus to the park. One can also fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport and get there from there.

Best time to visit

Tanzania has various safari seasons, each of which has its tourist activities. One can visit the park between July and November as this is the best time to see wildlife coming to drink water in the lake. During this time, one will also see so many wildlife migrating from one place to another. One can also visit between January and March for various wildlife activities. The iconic view of the Ngorongoro Crater and Oldonyo Lengai, the Ngorongoro Crater is a part of the UNESCO world heritage sites, as it provides essential habitat for many different animals.
