Mkomazi National Park Tour and safari packages

Mkomazi park is East of Usambara Mountains lying between Kenya and Tanzania. One will get a variety of birds and wild animals in the park. The park is a good place for hiking and game viewing.

The Mkomazi National Park is the best place to view various animals like elephants, buffalos, impalas, and zebras; the park also provides excellent views of the lake and the mountains of eastern Usambara. The park homes many species of birds like the Green-Crowned Weaver, Wood Wide-awake, Red-Faced Tailorbird, and more. The best time to visit Mkomazi National Park is from October to March.

  • Hiking

Mkomazi National Park provides many hiking trails for both solo and group hikers. Several interesting hiking trails can be made in the evening or after sunset. These trails are very peaceful, and one can enjoy a fantastic view of the beautiful wildlife in their natural habitat. The trails are an excellent way to meet people and see wildlife at night. The best time to do this is from October to February or in the dry season, which is June to September. This is when visibility is high, making it easier to see the animals. One can also take many game-viewing tours through these routes.

Bird watching is another gratifying activity in the area. Home to more than 300 species of birds, visitors can enjoy the views of the ostrich, guinea fowl, o, fish eagle, kori goose, palm weaver, African finfoot, secretary bird, Wattled Starling, Martial Eagle, and tailorbird.

The Mkomazi National Park offers a variety of accommodations. These include wild camping, luxury tents, and lodges. Wild campsites are available for those who love nature and want to return to the basics. Luxury camps are also available, along with chalets, which are all situated in beautiful settings. One can also enjoy bird watching and other activities around the tent at night. The price varies depending on the type of accommodation one choose.

How to get there

Mkomazi National Park is in Tanzania, on the eastern slopes of the Northern Usambara Mountains. It is one of the most amazing places in Tanzania to enjoy bird-watching and camping holidays. If one plans to go there by car, it will take one at least ten hours to drive from Dar es Salaam. Air transportation from Dar es Salaam and Arusha can also be reached.
