Mikumi National Park Tour & Safari Packages

Mikumi National Park is located in the Northern part of Tanzania and is one of the most visited places in Tanzania. The park is full of wildlife and an excellent trekking place. It also has many waterfalls, streams, and lakes The wildlife of the national park include various species of monkeys such as blue monkey, sooty mangabey, yellow baboon, and red tail monkey. Lions, hyenas, leopards, and other smaller cats also inhabit the park. Hippopotamus and reptile monster crocodile is a common sight on the Mikumi savanna. As for the walking tours, there is a popular trail that takes one to the “no man’s land.” This trail allows one to see a variety of animal species.

  • Visit the Uluguru Mountains

The Uluguru Mountains are located in the Western part of Tanzania and are a popular tourist attraction. People visit the Uluguru Mountains to see the area’s monkeys, antelopes, and birds. It is an excellent experience to enjoy the African wilderness and scenery and take pictures.

Uluguru Mountain is a very high mountain and supports climbing and hiking as it has numerous trails.

There are a wide variety of game drives within Mikumi National Park. The savanna of Mikumi is a good area for those who like animal viewing and bird watching. These include lions, hyenas, leopards, rhinoceros, and zebra. Other activities that can be done at the park include bird watching, photography, and walking tours.

  • Bird watching

Mikumi National Park is one of the best places in Tanzania to see rare birds. Herds of wildebeest, zebras, and several bird species surround the park, including the golden bowerbird. Other birds seen at Mikumi are the Green Crowned Weaver, Sparrow Hawk, and black Weaver.

The best time to view this wildlife is from October to March or June to September, as many migratory birds travel through this area.

  • Photography

Mikumi is a perfect location for photography because of the environment’s fantastic colors and natural beauty. The blue mangroves and tea plantations provide a stunning backdrop to the pictures. The colors are very green, making it one of the best places to be photographed in Tanzania.

 

  • Walking tours

The walking tours in this region are exciting and fun exercises that can be done in the evening or after sunset. Walking is an excellent way to meet people and see wildlife. The best time to do this is October to February or in the dry season, which is June to September. This is when visibility is high, making it easier to see the wildlife of Mikumi National Park. The first walk is to the no man’s land; this trail is very long and strenuous, but this is an exciting hike as one walk through the African wilderness.

Mikumi National Park is located in western Tanzania, spread across the eastern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Northern side of the Uluguru Mountains.

There are also a few safari camps that provide various accommodation options. Tourists can also book safari drives to Mikumi National Park from Dar es Salaam. The best place to stay at the park is at a campsite and tents, they are very comfortable and have beautiful views. The tents are spacious and provide a fantastic atmosphere than the standard tent in many ways.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Mikumi National Park is from October to March. During this time, one can see wildlife in water holes and the bushes where they like to rest. This is also the best time for photography as one will enjoy better visibility and light. The area surrounding Mikumi is one of the best places in Tanzania for bird watching and photography. The park provides a fantastic landscape with a variety of vegetation that is perfect for these activities.
