The Masai Mara game drive is an exciting adventure of the Mara Safaris. The best time to visit is from July all through October when the country is in the dry season, as it also coincides with the great migrations of the wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. The rainy seasons are great, fewer visitors, and you can admire the Greenland vegetation. The game drives are always done on three shifts. The morning game drive starts at dawn, and you can watch the sunrise in The Mara, and also the animals are usually active and fresh as they start hunting. As the sun gets hot, animals move near river banks to drink water and cool themselves off. On the other hand, the big cats go-to hiding places to rest; hence it is hard to see them. During the evening game drive from 4 PM till 630 PM, the cats are out of their hiding places in search of their dinner while the reptiles sunbathe.

There are times you could be lucky to witness wildebeest, zebras, and gazelle’s migration, and it’s a magnificent sight. These migrations typically happen from July to November of each year, when over two million migrating animals cross the Mara river from Serengeti to look for greener pasture and water. During this period, they breed as they graze while attracting predators such as big cats. The National reserve has different animal species to which diverse ecosystems have significantly contributed. The famous big five, such as the lion, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and cheetah, are also found there. The Masai Mara has several private and central conservancies which provide accommodation and opportunities for people to experience the splendor of nature and wildlife. The animals move freely within as there are no restrictions as they can move around and beyond the borders to Serengeti in Tanzania.
