Lake Manyara national park is located in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. It is a part of the Kilimanjaro Volcanic Arc, which is responsible for many lakes in this area Lake Manyara has attracted many tourists from neighboring countries such as Kenya and Uganda due to its diversity of ecosystems, making it very interesting for bird watching, hiking, and mountaineering park.

How to get there

Lake Manyara National park can be reached by air or road transport. One can fly from the Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha city. Lake Manyara is also accessible by safaris along the Magadi Road, connected to the Kenyan border, but this route is not very used because of its bad condition.

Best time to visit

Lake Manyara National Park is open throughout the year, but some parts of the park might be closed for canoeing and boat rides due to the water level. The best time to visit Lake Manyara national park depends on which activity one is looking forward to. If one is looking forward to enjoying a boat ride, the best season for this is October through April, when the water level is high enough for canoeing and boating. If one is looking forward to experiencing the trees and vegetation, the best time for this is October through April, when the trees are in full bloom.

Lake Manyara national park has many camps on its islands that tourists use. These camps are usually small and affordable. One can get to stay in a tent, or One can get to stay in a fully-furnished bungalow with a bathroom and kitchen. The rooms are usually clean, and there are also recreational areas that one can visit.
