Wildlife
Tourists visit the park to see Jozani forest animals. It has a good population of Zanzibar red colobus monkeys. This is an endemic subspecies of primates. It is easy to spot them during a guided nature walk. Ader’s duikers are common animals in the forest. They are one of the species of antelopes found in Zanzibar. You can spot suni antelope. But the two species of antelopes are very shy. Other Jozani forest animals are the Zanzibar leopard and servaline genet.

Birdlife
If you love birds, Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park is an ideal destination. The park has recorded over 168 species of birds. Most forest birds are very shy. It is hard to spot them. But with a great tour operator, you are more likely to see them. The most common species are little greenbul, somber greenbul, Kenya crested guineafowl, and cardinal woodpecker. Other present species are crowned hornbill, dark-backed weaver, olive sunbird, and golden weaver among others.

Scenery
Jozani forest has a scenic view. It is one of the few remaining near-natural forests in Tanzania. Its habitats including coastal forest, groundwater forest, and grassland give it a beautiful view. It has over 291 species of plants. The park is home to over 50 species of butterflies. Also, being in Zanzibar, the park has a beautiful view of the beaches.

Climate
Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park has a tropical climate. The wet season is between November to December and April to May. Temperatures range between 24 and 34 degrees Celsius. The dry season is between January to February and June to October. Temperatures range between 20 and 33 degrees Celsius. The best time to visit the park is during the dry season. The weather is usually favorable for most of the activities in the park. But the wet season is ideal for watching birds.
