This 7-day safari visits Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti, where your accommodation has been carefully chosen to almost guarantee Wildebeest Migration sightings in season. A professional driver/guide leads the overland experience, which starts at a small farmhouse outside Arusha.
The diverse wildlife and environment will appeal to first-time safari goers and veterans alike. Tarangire is home to large cats, riverfront animals, red-dust elephants, and stunning “upside-down trees” (baobabs). At Ngorongoro Crater, Africa’s densest concentration of large animals, you can see lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant in one game drive. Arusha's Kilimanjaro International Airport is the starting point for your overland safari. From there, you'll travel to the Rivertrees Country Inn, a refurbished farmhouse on the outskirts of Arusha. Rivertrees is a charming place to begin your safari, with cottage suites tucked away along the riverbank or in the shade of towering trees at the base of Mount Meru. Birdsong fills the air, and you may relax on your private patio while you take in the sights and sounds of your surroundings before you dine by candlelight.
Located in the middle of the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands in Tanzania lies the quaint Ngorongoro Farm House. In a rural setting, guests may enjoy genuine warmth, luxurious accommodations, and fresh, locally sourced meals. The world-famous Ngorongoro Crater is within easy reach from this lodge because to its enviable position on the park's boundaries.
You can also embark on game drives to the surrounding Ngorongoro Crater, take guided hikes, and visit a nearby Maasai town. Ngorongoro Farm House is the best option for people in search of tranquility in the midst of Tanzania's breathtaking highlands.
You'll be checking into Ubuntu Migration Camp in the Serengeti after a hearty breakfast. Ubuntu, a semipermanent mobile camp with tents pitched beneath thorn trees, moves to the most advantageous positions along the route of the annual Wildebeest Migration.
The main birthing season of the Migration occurs in February, providing a fruitful period for the resident big cats and wild canines. You may be able to witness the herds risking crocodile-infested waters as they cross the rivers of the Serengeti at this time of year. The day consists of two game drives, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, plus a three-course meal and drinks by the campfire each evening. Your tented accommodation has an own bathroom with a hot-water bucket shower and is comfortable and simple.
Before your departure to the Serengeti South airstrip and your midday flight return to Arusha's Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will have time for breakfast and, possibly, one last drive. This tour concludes when you arrive at midday, at which point you can make your way to your next destination.
