Tourists are picked up from Kilimanjaro Airport and Lake Manyara Airstrip at 8.00a.m, where the guide to their camp picks them up. Others drive to the crater and are picked up at the gate. People always visit to view many flamingos flooding Lake Magadi at the crater's center.

Visitors arriving at the gate are picked up by their game warden. They are directed to view the crater, Olduvai Gorge, which is a 14km long deep ravine, and black rhino species.
