Tour Plan
When you land at Ivato International Airport, an English-speaking guide will be waiting to take you to your accommodation for the night, Maison Gallieni. Stylishly blending modern and classic elements, this restored colonial estate is a sight to behold. Maison Gallieni was the first bank in Madagascar, opening its doors in 1879 on the site of a granite quarry. Perched high above the Malagasy capital, this hotel boasts breathtaking panoramas of the city below.
At your leisure, spend the day lounging by the hotel's pool or venturing out to see the sights of Antananarivo, or "Tana" as the locals call it.
Accommodation: Maison Gallieni
Meals & Drinks: Dinner
We will drive you to Ivato International Airport in time for your scheduled charter flight to Anjajavy after an early morning breakfast. Anjajavy Lodge, a five-star retreat on the northwest coast of Madagascar, will be waiting to welcome you when you land. The lodge is located within a 450-hectare nature reserve. Surrounded by a mystical forest teeming with lemurs, chameleons, and hummingbirds, your two-story rosewood villa will offer a private deck with breathtaking ocean views. This evening, you'll go on a thrilling stroll into the forest at night, where you may encounter nocturnal animals like the curious Coquerel's siafakas and the small Danfoss's mouse lemurs. The Commerson's leaf-nosed bat, the endemic Tsingy tufted-tailed rat, and the elusive fossa, Madagascar's largest predator, are just a few of the animals you'll want to keep an eye out for, as does the peculiar shriek of the Grewcock's sportive lemur.

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
After breakfast, you'll set out on a hike along the Path of the Crabs (Chemin des Crabes), where you can see ancient baobabs, the famous hairy crab, and a rainbow of birds, such as the brilliant red fody, Souimanga sunbird, paradise flycatcher, Madagascar fish eagle, crested ibis, and the rare Madagascar sacred ibis. In addition, you will explore a cave containing priceless artifacts including fossilized lemur teeth, shark jawbones, and stalactites. You'll have lunch and the rest of the day to relax at the resort, perhaps by swimming in the lodge's seawater infinity pool or exploring the lodge's private coves.

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
After a satisfying breakfast, take a leisurely stroll along the island's King's Alley and Giant's Causeway, which are adorned with old baobab trees and Tsingy rock formations. The unique lemur species known as Coquerel's sifakas, which hop around like a miniature kangaroo, will also be in sight. A variety of lemurs, including the sifaka and the more common brown lemur, are free to explore the lodge's grounds and the reserve. You'll head back to the lodge for a romantic lunch in the Oasis, a moist biotope packed with plants that stand in for the amazing flora of Madagascar. Frogs and chameleons can be seen in the pond, families of lemurs can be seen scurrying through the trees, and you may even spot a Souimanga sunbird or a Malagasy kingfisher.

Daytime pursuits include scuba diving, snorkeling, quad biking, and fishing, among others. Tailor-made day trips to nearby islands and natural parks are also available. You can have a picnic on one of the uninhabited beaches on the Anjajavy Peninsula or go on an adventure to the cave of the Sakalava, where you can see a family of Madagascar bats among the stalagmites and stalactites. You may also go to Antafiamoara, where you can witness the Giant tortoises that were returned to the Anjajavy Reserve in 2018 after being extinct for 750 years, or you can check out the towns of Anjajavy and Ambodro Ampasy, where you can shop for unique handicrafts.
