Tour Plan

After leaving Nairobi in the morning, travel through the middle portion of Kenya and continue on towards Nyeri. If the weather is fine, you will be able to obtain a good view of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares ranges from Nyeri. You will carry on with the trip and make a brief stopover at the Equator close to Nanyuki, the base town. Here, you will pick up the other group of cooks and porters before continuing on to the Sirimon park gate, which is located at 2,650 meters. After getting clearance from the park authority, we will begin the trek through the forest to Old Moses camp at 3,300 meters altitude, accompanied by the guide, the cook, and the porters (4 hrs walk).

Go through the moorland after breakfast, looking out for high-altitude flora, animals, and bird species on the way to Shipton camp, which is located at 4,200 meters at the base of the peaks. (6-7 hours of walking from POLE to POLE)

A day dedicated to acclimatization, during which you can go on a trek to the Hausburg col at 4,600 meters and then return to Shipton for lunch, dinner, and overnight accommodations; alternatively, you can traverse around the peaks to Mackinders camp at 4,200 meters on the Naromoru side and stay there for the night.

The trip's longest day. After an early morning tea, ascend Peak Lenana (4,985M) (3hrs), Mt. Kenya's third peak, to see the sunrise. After seeing Mt. Kilimanjaro to the south from the summit, descend to Mintos camp (3hrs) on the eastern side of the peaks for breakfast with your cook and porters. After breakfast, descend to Meru Mt. Kenya Bandas camp 2,950m for a hot shower, dinner, and overnight ( 6hrs). On-route lunch. (12+ hours).

After breakfast, you will descend for two hours through the rain forest to connect with your transfer off the mountain to Chogoria settlement. You will then drive back to Nairobi, while the porters continue on to Nanyuki, where they will arrive in the evening.
