Tour Plan

Start the four-day Kibale National Park safari as early as six in the morning when you meet your driver-guide and travel to Kibale Forest National Park. Taking a lunch break on the way, this 5-hour trip will arrive in the early afternoon. Drive to the park headquarters to receive a briefing on the endangered chimpanzees. A park ranger will then lead you into the forest while carrying your tracking equipment, water supply, and food. To find the chimpanzees, this tracking takes between two and five hours. Following chimpanzee tracking, you will spend an hour observing the primates while researching their behavior and taking pictures. You will then go to your resort for dinner and an overnight stay.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Breakfast in the morning, then go to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes 8 to 9 hours, including a lunch break along the way, and it passes through Ishasha in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where there is a chance to see lions that climb trees. Go to Bwindi and arrive there in the afternoon. Take dinner and have an overnight stay.

Meal Plan: Breakfast and Dinner.

Following a pleasant breakfast, you will depart for the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled water at 7:00 am for a briefing with the park ranger guides. After receiving a briefing, you will begin your gorilla trekking expedition in pursuit of the mountain gorillas. Depending on the gorillas' mobility, it can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours. Once you have located the creatures, you will be permitted to spend an hour with the friendly primates before returning to your resort to rest and refuel. An optional community tour of Bwindi will be offered. As stated above, you will have dinner and spend the night.

You will leave for your trip back to Kampala after breakfast, stopping in Mbarara for lunch along the way and making one more stop in Masaka to mark the equator. Continue your trip to Kampala, where you will arrive in the evening. Transfer to the airport or your hotel in preparation for your next flight home.
