Overview

The best suited for our three-day Lake Mburo animal, boat, and walking safari are those staying in Mbarara or Kampala and have a few nights available to spend in one of Uganda’s smaller but nearest but nearest National Parks. The wildlife-human conflicts of the 1970s and 1980s, in which some significant animals like lions were exterminated, are now behind Lake Mburo National Park. Some species, including lions and giraffes, have been restored due to the Uganda Wildlife Authority’s attempts to bring Lake Mburo back to its former splendor.

Tour Plan

A safari guide will pick you up and meet with you to give you a briefing on this three-day Lake Mburo wildlife, boating, and walking safari. You will be driven to Lake Mburo National Park along the Kampala-Mbarara road, passing through tiny towns, and you'll arrive in time for lunch, a little break, and a quick evening wildlife drive. This tour allows you to make a photo stop at the Equator crossing and conduct experiments to demonstrate that this is the true geographic center of the planet. We stop at Mpambire Royal Drum Makers during our three-day lake Mburo wildlife, boat, and walking safari so you can see how native drums are produced from wood and animal hides and skins. Arrive at your lodge, eat lunch, and get ready for a little game drive in the late afternoon.

Based on your preferences, your driving guide will take you on a game drive or a safari walk in the park after breakfast. Major species like lions were hunted or murdered to extinction in Lake Mburo National Park due to a poor history between wildlife and humans, but because of better ties between the government and the local community, communities and animals are now coexisting. Many species, including lions (rarely seen, though) and giraffes, have been reintroduced. You may be sure to see herds of buffalo, zebras, impalas, birds, and much more on a wildlife drive in the Lake Mburo National Park. After lunch, rest in the lodge before taking a boat tour around the lake in the evening.

Following lunch, you will be taken to the lake, where you will have a short free time before meeting your captain for the day. Your skipper will then take you on a two-hour boat tour. A boat tour of Lake Mburo will allow you to observe hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds, including the African fish eagle and the critically endangered African fin foot. The vast congregation of animals for water, including buffaloes and antelopes, offers the chance to admire nature, especially marine species. Once your boat excursion is over, you'll retire to your lodge for dinner and the night.

A ranger guide from the Uganda Wildlife Authority will meet you after breakfast and accompany you on foot for a safari walk after giving you a briefing. Those who want to exercise and see animals on foot can participate in this program. You can only go on a safari on foot right now at Lake Mburo. Except you'll be doing it on foot this time, you'll get to observe everything you would have seen on a game drive. After leaving the lodge, depart for Kampala while enjoying lunch.
